Cute Anime Pets are probably the most loved creatures in the world. People love to see cute animals in movies, tv shows, games, and anime series. Anime treats pets in a special light, sometimes making them confront the protagonist to begin their story, and sometimes they’re just really cute on-screen buddies who do nothing more than make the viewers “aww” aloud.
Whether the pet can be a small rodent living his daily life or a giant wolf protecting her young, pets are just as amazing as the main characters. They are the best friend and family of the main characters. Here are the Top 8 Cute Anime Pets that you definitely wish you had.
8 Cute Anime Pets Ever
8. Luna & Artemis – Sailor Moon
Luna is the Latin word for “moon” and Artemis is the name of the Greek Goddess of the hunt, forests and hills, archery and the moon. Pretty fitting for two cat guardian companions in a series called Sailor Moon, huh?
7. Tetsuya 2 – Kuroko’s Basketball
Fluffy Pomsky, Tetsuya 2, is named after a basketball hero in the anime Kuroko No Basket, which is centered on basketball. His owner, Kuroko, takes him to many of his games, and the pooch soon becomes the team’s beloved mascot. He is Tetsuya Kuroko’s pet dog. He is taken care of by Kuroko and the Seirin team and has become somewhat of the club’s mascot. Kuroko also calls him #2.
6. Jiji – Kiki’s Delivery Service
Jiji is an iconic black cat who acts as Kiki’s familiar throughout the film. He is witty and funny and totally loveable. But about halfway through the film, Kiki loses all of her powers. Including being able to understand him. It’s at that point that Jiji becomes just a normal house cat.
5. Tippy – Is the Order a Rabbit?
In an anime just oozing with kawaii, somehow they included a pet that adds even more cuteness. Introducing Tippy, the angora rabbit that loves to sit on heads and help out in the café/bar called the Rabbit House. He’s so cute that Kokoa even uses a unique word (“floofy”) to describe him . But Tippy also has many hidden secrets and surprising depth. There is definitely more to this anime pet than meets the eye.
4. Sorata – The World’s Greatest First Love
The cat called Sorata is used in a very interesting way in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi – it helps to trigger a memory. Ritsu Onodera has spent most of his adulthood so far trying to forget the ghosts of his youth, and for the most part, he has succeeded. But when Takano reappears in his life in a big way, he can both barely believe it, and is completely at a loss as he can barely remember any details of their past relationship. But the sight of Sorata helps to rekindle some memories, and even some feelings.
3. Pikachu – Pokemon
Ash Ketchum’s very first Pokemon was an excellent choice for the show mascot. Pikachu is fun because he’s an active, fun character, and his interactions with the other characters are very well written out. That, and he’s just drop dead cute. The bright-eyed, bright colored electric mouse melted the hearts of kids in the 90s and created the massive adult Pokemon fandom that exists today.
2. Hamtaro – Hamtaro
Hamtaro is a children’s anime/manga about a pet hamster going on adventures with his little friends. Forgetting that an odd number of people in this town have pet hamsters (suburban conformity strikes again), the show is a decent Saturday morning cartoon, and the titular Hamtaro is so cute you could just die.
